Physical Description		Kevra is of average height and has a slim, trim build. Her years in Security left her physically fit, although she now prefers controlled martial forms and exercise rather than regular combat training. She has pale blue skin, dark eyes and long white hair, which she usually wears in soft waves. Kevra takes pride in her appearance and enjoys experimenting with different hairstyles, particularly for formal events. Her antennae are expressive and tend to move towards sounds or people that have caught her attention, making it slightly more difficult for her to hide irritation or curiosity than she would sometimes like.

General Overview		Kevra is professional, organised and takes a great deal of pride in the work she does. She knows that much of a yeoman’s job happens behind the scenes and is often overlooked, but that has never bothered her. She enjoys making sure that meetings run smoothly, that everyone has the information they need and that the Captain’s time is used properly. Kevra is discreet and can be trusted with confidential information, although she is also good at knowing when someone needs coffee, food or simply half an hour without being disturbed. Outside of work, Kevra is warm, social and easy to talk to. She enjoys being around people and is usually happy to join a conversation, whether with officers or enlisted crew. She laughs easily, likes teasing her friends and can be quite playful when she is relaxed. She is generally happy with her life and her career, although she does sometimes feel lonely when she returns to empty quarters after spending the day surrounded by people. Kevra has a temper, but it does not usually appear over small disagreements. She becomes angry when her friends, her ship or the Federation are threatened, particularly if someone dismisses the values she has chosen to serve. Her anger can be intense and direct, although she is usually able to control herself before it affects her duties. When someone insults her, betrays her trust or treats another person with contempt, however, Kevra can become cold and distant instead. She will remain professional, but the warmth she normally gives so freely can disappear completely, and she does not forget easily. Kevra is loyal to the people she trusts and can become very protective of them, sometimes more than they actually need.

Personal History		Kevra Tharos was born on Andoria in 2264 to Varek and Talla Tharos. Her father worked for the Andorian government while her mother had served in Starfleet for several years before returning home. Kevra grew up in a household where service was considered important, although neither of her parents expected her to follow the same path. She was close to both of them and some of her happiest childhood memories were of hiking through the snow with them. Kevra had always enjoyed the cold and even as a child she preferred being outside to staying indoors. Kevra always knew that she wanted to do something useful with her life, although she was never certain what that would be. Her mother encouraged her to try Starfleet, believing that Kevra could enlist, serve for a few years and then return to Andoria with useful experience behind her. Kevra liked the idea of seeing more of the Federation and enlisted when she was eighteen. She initially trained in Security. Kevra was physically capable, observant and able to remain calm when someone else became angry. She was good at the work and received positive reports from her superior officers, but after several years she had to admit that she did not enjoy it. She could perform the duties well enough, but she did not look forward to her shifts and found little satisfaction in waiting for situations to become dangerous. Unsure what she wanted to do instead, Kevra began visiting other departments to learn more about the work carried out aboard a starship. The person who arranged most of those visits was the captain’s yeoman. Kevra had previously thought of the role as mostly administrative, but she quickly realised how much work happened behind the scenes. The yeoman managed the captain’s schedule, prepared briefings, dealt with correspondence and made sure that the people attending meetings had the information they needed. It was work that was often overlooked, but without it very little aboard the ship would run properly. Kevra applied to retrain as a yeoman and found that the work suited her far better than Security had. She enjoyed being organised, working with people and knowing that the small details she handled allowed other officers to concentrate on their own duties. Her previous Security training also proved useful when dealing with confidential information, visiting dignitaries and situations where the captain required additional protection. After completing her training, Kevra spent almost three years serving as a yeoman aboard USS Orsina. In 2290 she was transferred to the USS Ark Royal, where she hoped to continue building her career and become part of a new crew. She remained proud of her Security training, but had no regrets about leaving the department. For the first time since joining Starfleet, Kevra felt that she had found the work she was meant to do.
